IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND, RANCHI ---- A. B. A. No. 1970 of 2026 ---- Ranjit Marandi, aged about 32 years son of Lata Bhuta Marandi @ Bhutu Marandi, resident of Village Chachirrubad, PO and PS Govindpur, District Dhanbad, Jharkhand .... Petitioner -- Versus -- The State of Jharkhand .... Opposite Party ---- CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR DWIVEDI --- For the Petitioner :- Ms. Papita Mondal, Advocate For the State :- Mr. Achinto Sen, Advocate For the Informant :- Mr. Pratiush Lala, Advocate ---- 2/30. 04. 2026 Heard learned counsels for petitioner and for State. 2. The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Govindpur PS Case No. 22 of 2026, for offence registered under section 126(2), 333, 118(1), 76, 109, 351(2) of BNS, 2023, pending in court of learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, Dhanbad. 3.

Learned counsel for petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and false allegation is made of assault and injury is not there and further the petitioner is having no criminal antecedent and on these grounds, she submits that anticipatory bail may kindly be granted. 4. Learned State counsel as well as the learned counsel for the informant jointly oppose the prayer and submit that the petitioner has forcefully tried to establish the relationship with the informant and when she has resisted, the petitioner has assaulted and she was admitted in the hospital and from the hospital, she has given the statement to the investigating officer, and on these grounds, they submit that anticipatory bail to the petitioner may kindly be rejected. 5.

Looking to the contents of the FIR, it transpires that from the hospital bed she has given the statement to the investigating officer alleging that the petitioner has tried to establish relationship forcefully and when she resisted the petitioner has assaulted and pursuant to that, she has received injury and even the allegations are there that thereafter also the petitioner has threatened of implicating and eliminating the entire family of the informant and the person who is helping the informant, and in the attending facts and circumstances of the instant case, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. As such, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is hereby rejected and consequently, this anticipatory bail application being A. B. A. No. 1970 of 2026 is, hereby, dismissed.
