The petitioner has approached this Court through this application seeking interim bail on the ground that his son’s marriage is scheduled to be solemnized on 15. 12. 2020. The application instant came to be submitted on 08. 12. 2020 and the case was listed on 10. 12. 2020. On that day, petitioner’s counsel did not joined the link provided for hearing.
However, we still directed the learned Public Prosecutor to submit the verification report. Learned Public Prosecutor has submitted the verification report which, indicates that the reception of the marriage has already been solemnized on 05. 12. 2020. (2 of 2) [SOSA-867/2020] In this background, and considering the fact that the wedding is scheduled to be solemnized tomorrow morning, we are of the firm view that this application has been filed at a very belated stage and no fruitful purpose would be served by suspending the sentences of the appellant temporarily.
