HIGH COURT OF TRIPURA AGARTALA BA 70 OF 2020 Present: For the petitioner (s) : Mr. A. K. Pal, Advocate. For the respondent(s) : Mr. R. Datta, P. P. HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE ARINDAM LODH 15. 07. 2020 Order Heard Mr. A. K. Pal, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as Mr. R. Datta, learned Public Prosecutor appearing for the State-respondent. The accused Saleh Ahmed has been arrested in connection with Kadamtala P. S. Case No. 02/2020, under Sections 8/22(C)/29 of NDPS Act. He has been under detention for more than 6 (six) months. Charge-sheet has already been filed. The accused is not a resident of the State of Tripura. He is a permanent resident of State of Assam. Mr. Pal, learned counsel has submitted one prescription of Dr. B. K. Shil who certified that the wife of the accused person, namely, Minara Begam has been suffering from serious illness and she has been referred to a hospital at Shillong for better treatment. On the aforesaid grounds, Mr.
Pal has strenuously argued to release the accused person, namely, Saleh Ahmed on bail. After perusal of the record and the ground set forth in the petition and after considering the submissions of learned counsel of the parties, I do not find it is a fit case to grant bail to the accused. However, it is directed that the learned Special Judge, North Tripura, Dharmanagar shall complete the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt of this order. With the aforesaid order, the instant bail application stands rejected. JUDGE
