C. , the accused-petitioner, namely, Mintu Baruah has sought for bail in connection with Pulibor Police Station Case No. 669/2020 registered under Section 498(A) IPC read with Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing for the State. Also perused the materials on record. The petitioner is the husband of the informant and he demanded Rs. 1,50,000/- from the Page No.
# 2/2 informant and also tortured her as alleged in FIR, but no one has specifically stated about such torture during investigation. The accused person is in custody since 28. 10. 2020. Considering the entirety, the named accused person is hereby allowed to go on bail in connection with the case aforementioned on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- with one suitable surety of the like amount, to the satisfaction of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jorhat, Assam.
