Serial No. 37 Regular Cause List HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR WP(C) 1831/2022 CM(4524/2022) Anayat Farooq … Petitioner(s) Through: Mr. Bhat Fayaz, Advocate Vs. J&K Board of School Education and Anr. ... Respondent(s) Through: Ms. Sana Imam, Advocate vice Mr. M. I. Dar, Advocate CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJAY DHAR, JUDGE. ORDER 30. 12. 2024 The grievance of the petitioner is that respondents are not effecting correction in the name of his mother as reflected in the certificates issued by the respondent board in favour of the petitioner. According to the petitioner, the name of his mother is “Mahmooda”, whereas, in the certificates issued by the respondent board, the same has been reflected as “Hamida”. It has been contended that the petitioner has already approached the respondent board authorities by filling up the requisite form, a copy whereof has been placed on record by the petitioner.
However, it has been submitted that the respondents are not taking any decision on his application. Having regard to the limited nature of controversy involved in this case, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider the petitioner’s application for rectification of his mother’s name in the certificates issued by the respondent board, strictly in accordance with rules and guidelines holding the field. The respondents shall accord consideration expeditiously, preferably within a period of two moths from the date a copy of this order is served upon the respondent board. Disposed of.
