According to him, the petitioner is the wife of (L) Md. Sayed Hassan of Lilong Turel Ahanbi Mathak Leikai who was at one time working as a Handyman and had expired due to illness. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation to the Executive Engineer, Mechanical Division No. 1, Public Works Department, Manipur, Porompat for taking appropriate steps toward the payment of retiral benefits.

When the matter is taken up for consideration, it has been submitted by Shri S. Samarjit, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that the instant writ petition can be disposed of by issuing an innocuous order and accordingly, the instant writ petition stands disposed of with the direction that the respondents and in particular, the respondent No. 4 and 5 shall complete the process of calculation and paper works within a period of three months and thereafter, appropriate action shall be taken by the respondents for payment of death and pensionary benefits within a month thereafter in accordance with law.
