The petitioner has been made accused in connection with S. T. Case No. 20 of 2026, arising out of Rail PS Chandil Case No. 22 of 2025 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 317(4), 317(5) of BNS, 2023.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner was in illegal possession of stolen mobile phone, which was looted by snatching the same from a railway passenger from running train and the petitioner has been habitually dealing with stolen property. It is next submitted that the allegation against the petitioner is false. It is then submitted that the petitioner is in custody since 01. 11. 2025, as mentioned in para 12 of the bail application. Learned Addl. P. P. opposed the prayer for regular bail. Considering submissions of learned counsels and the facts as stated above, I am inclined to release the petitioner on bail.
