C. , the accused-petitioner, namely, Tutun Bhadra has sought for bail in connection with Udalguri Police Station Case No. 254/2020, registered under Sections 13/14 of Assam game and Betting Act. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing for the State. Also perused the case diary and the materials on record.
So far as the allegation as regard the accused person was betting in the IPL match going on in between Rajathan Royal and Delhi Capitals and in the raid made by the police person an amount of Rs. 16,670/- Page No. # 2/2 along with some articles were recovered from their possession. The accused person was arrested on 15. 10. 2020 and considering the nature of accussion it appears that further custodial detention of the accused person is not warranted. Accordingly, the present accused petitioner is hereby directed to be released on bail in connection with the case aforementioned on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- with one suitable surety of the like amount, to the satisfaction of the CJM, Udalguri.
