This is a petition by the petitioners who claim to have married out of their free will and volition. Both the petitioners are apparently major. They apprehend threat to their life and liberty at the hands of the respondents 7 to 10. th 2. This petition came up for consideration before this Court on 12 February, 2025, when this Court while issuing notice to the respondents directed respondents 1 to 6 to provide protection to their life and liberty. This order was th passed on 12 February, 2025, however, steps for service of respondents 7 to 10 have not been taken.
It seems that the purpose for which this petition was filed has been achieved and, therefore, petitioners have decided to abandon this petition. 3. Be that as it may, having regard to the nature of the controversy involved, this petition is disposed of by directing that in case the petitioners still apprehend any threat to their life and liberty, they shall be free to approach the concerned police station for seeking protection. Needless to say that the police authorities, if approached by the petitioners in this regard, shall take remedial measures as are permissible in law so as to ensure the protection of their life and liberty. 4.
