2020 [1] The writ petitioner who approached this Court filed this writ petition seeking prayers as follows: (i) Issue writ in the nature of Certiorari/Mandamus or any other appropriate writ of the like nature to quash and set aside the Impugned Advertisement No. B/3066/2016-RIMS/613 dated WP(C) No. 84 of 2018Page 1 06. 01. 2018 in respect of the post of Assistant Professor of Paediatrics, Department of Paediatrics RIMS, Imphal; (ii) Issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the Respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Assistant Professor of Paediatrics, Department of Paediatrics RIMS, Imphal. (iii) Call for records of the case; (iv) If no cause is shown or insufficient cause is shown the rule may be absolute. (v) Pass any other further orders or directions that this Hon’ble Court deems fit, just and proper in the interest of justice. [2] When the matter is taken up today, Mr. M.
Devananda, learned counsel for the RIMS produced order dated 06. 09. 2019 passed by the Deputy Director (Admn. ), Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal which reads as follows:- REGIONAL INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (An Autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India) IMPHAL: MANIPUR O R D E R th Imphal, the 6 Sept. , 2019. No. B/1520/2014-RIMS/3281: In pursuance of the decision st under item No. 12 of the 1 Meeting of Executive Council, Society of RIMS, Imphal read with the Time Scale Promotion, Rules, 1991, Dr. Satyakumar Th who was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor, Dept. of Paediatrics under the Time Scale Promotion Rules, 1991 is hereby adjusted against the regular vacant post of WP(C) No. 84 of 2018Page 2 Assistant Professor of Paediatrics vacated by Dr. Kh. Ibochouba Singh with immediate effect. Resultantly, the regular substantive post of Registrar of Paediatrics held by him in the lower grade is revived and vacated.

[3] As per the above order, it made clear that the prayers sought for in this writ petition is infructuous.
