As both the petitioners claimed to have attained majority, we had, by our order dated 14. 05. 2020, directed that the petitioners be granted protection for a period of three weeks to ensure that there was no threat to their lives. The matter was adjourned thereafter since the investigation was still pending. 4. Mr. Deep Chandra Joshi, learned counsel for the petitioners, states that both the petitioners will appear before the third respondent within one week from today. 7.
In case they do so, the third respondent shall record their statements and examine the threat perception to their lives and, if he is satisfied that there is indeed any threat to their lives, they shall be provided such protection as is necessary.
