Serial No. 13 Supplementary List HIGH COURT OF MEGHALAYA AT SHILLONG WP(C) No. 388 of 2023 Date of Decision: 01. 02. 2024 Smti Prosen M. Sangma Vs. State of Meghalaya & Ors. Coram: Hon’ble Mr. Justice H. S. Thangkhiew, Chief Justice (Acting) Appearance: For the Petitioner(s) : Ms. L. D. Sangma, Adv. For the Respondent(s) : Mrs. T. Yangi B, AAG with Ms. R. Colney, GA i) Whether approved for reporting in Yes/No Law journals etc: ii) Whether approved for publication Yes/No in press: JUDGMENT AND ORDER(ORAL) 1. The petitioner who was appointed as an Armed Branch Constable in the office of the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, District is before this Court with a prayer that the representation filed by him dated 13. 10. 2023, be considered. 2.
The brief facts are that the petitioner after being appointed was placed under suspension on the allegation that he had furnished false educational certificates, for which Departmental Proceedings were drawn up and he stood dismissed from service by the order dated 26. 04. 2006. 3. Thereafter, it appears that Criminal Proceedings were also initiated against the petitioner, wherein the petitioner was discharged with an observation that the Prosecution has failed to prove the case beyond the reasonable doubt. It is in this backdrop that the petitioner had submitted the above noted representation. 4. It is submitted by Ms. L. D. Sangma, learned counsel for the petitioner that at this stage it would suffice if directions are issued to the respondents to dispose of the representation. This is not objected by Mrs. T. Yangi B, learned AAG for State respondents. 5. Accordingly, it is directed that the respondents more specifically the respondent No. 2, to take up the representation dated 13.
10. 2023, for consideration and for disposal within a period of 2(two) months from the date of this order. 6. With the above directions, matter stands closed and is accordingly disposed of. Chief Justice (Acting) Meghalaya 01. 02. 2024 “V. Lyndem-PS”
