This petition is for extension of time to complete the physical test in connection with the selection and appointment to the post in question, which was the subject matter of consideration in Writ Appeal No. 620/2019, that came to be disposed off as per the common judgment dated 24. 02. 2020. 2.
As per the said verdict, the written test was saved (after setting aside the impugned order) and the physical test was directed to be conducted in accordance with the 2007 Rules. The process was directed to be completed within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of the judgment. Subsequently, pointing out various adverse circumstances, an application was filed for extension of time which was considered and allowed vide order dated 30. 06. 202020 granting extension of time by three months. 3. Shri Mateen Siddiqui, the Deputy Advocate General appearing on behalf of the petitioners/State submits that some more time is required to complete the process. The present MCC has been referring to the subsequent developments and seeks for extension of time.
When the matter came up for consideration on the last occasion, we directed the State to file a proper affidavit with regard to the sequence of events, pursuant to which an additional affidavit has been filed referring to the specific dates and events. The learned counsel submits that a detailed chart has been given in paragraph No. 10, which is to the following effects :- 1. Constitution of Requirement Upto 15/10/2020 Committee at each range level by Range IGP. 2. Advertisement/Circulation of Upto 15/12/2020. information for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and issuance of day-wise chart/programme of candidates would be completed. 3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Due to Covid-19 will be conducted. Physical Efficiency Test of maximum 500 candidates per day is proposed by complying with Social Distancing norms.

It is submitted that the matter will be pursued in a systematic and result oriented approach manner, so as to have the selection process finalized within the extended time. 6. Considering the genuineness of the requirement pointed out, we find it appropriate to allow the prayer, granting further time to complete the process of selection as assured and undertaken in the MCC. 8.
