No. 52/2009, Mob: 7005715352 Subject: PIL No. 06 of 2024 Shri RK Joysana Singh –vs- The Union of India & 5 Ors. – Reg. P a g e 1 | 2 Sir, With reference to the above cited PIL, it is for the appraisal of the Hon’ble High Court that the construction of Irang bridge has been completed and only a small portion of approach road towards the Jiribam side is remaining for construction and will be completed shortly. Due to land acquisition issue, the said portion was not handed over to the NHIDCL by CALA/DC, Noney. 2. Further, the bridge is in motorable condition and it has been open to all type of vehicles since 30. 05. 2024.

It is stated that delayed in construction of bridge construction was caused due to several security challenges and series of Force Majeure event such as Covid-19 pandemics, Bailey bridge collapsed, ethnic/communal violence and local hindrances on Land Acquisition issues. In this regard some recent photographs from the project site of Irang Bridge are enclosed herein and marked as ANNEXURE – I. 3. This is issued with the proposal of the Competent Authority. Encl: As stated above. Sd/- (S. Dholendro Singh) Dy. General Manager (LA) NHIDCL, RO-Imphal” Photographs of the subject bridge have also been placed on the record today. In view of the foregoing, the relief prayed for has been satisfied and the present PIL is disposed of, accordingly. JUDGE CHIEF JUSTICE Bipin P a g e 2 | 2
